Just a few hours ago we said goodbye to last year and Hello to 2016!
I am excited because there will be some great new opportunities in our little community this year. Some of you may have already noticed a few of the subtle changes over the past few weeks. (Please be sure to read this entire post to see what great things are coming up this year)
Several months ago God began to birth a desire in my spirit to gather a community of women to seek Him and His Word. That community began to grow as we started our very first online study, Fervent, back in the fall.
While studying for one of those lessons, God “interrupted” my thoughts with this amazing, bigger-than-me vision for the future of this online group.
No longer will this be “just a blog”, but rather an authentic, full-time ministry.
(Details about the vision are coming up, I promise!)
New Name
The first step, and most noticeable, will be a new name – Real Women Ministries.
You may have noticed I began using this during the last few weeks. Although the name of my blog has always been “Real Women”, I have always operated under my personal name on social media and in the web address.
Does that mean the website will change? What about social media?
New Look
Yes, there will be changes to both. In fact, there have already been some updates over the last couple of days to both the Facebook page and the website.
Our logo has been refreshed and given a new look.
You can also find it on the new cover photo on Facebook and Twitter, and soon on Instagram and Pinterest.
We will also be changing the name on all of these accounts from my personal name to Real Women, so be sure to follow all these accounts so you can be notified when the changes take effect.
So you may be wondering, “If you are changing your name, social media, and logo, are you changing your website?”
YES!
Over the next few weeks, we will begin using our new web address:
In fact, you can go ahead and begin using it now. It will redirect you to this blog, but hubby will have the new site launched soon. Please be sure to take note this new web address ends .ORG not .com.
Please be sure to sign up as a community member. Community members get updates before anyone else. In fact, if you are already signed up as a member, you received this information earlier this week! Sign up as a community member today, once we launch the new site, you won’t want to miss out on all the exciting opportunities coming up this year.
New Opportunities
This is where the good stuff takes place. (See? I promised I would get to the good stuff)
We believe that spending time in God’s Word is not only vital to our spiritual health, but it is crucial in the days ahead for the Christian church in America. We believe there will come a time when we will no longer have free access to the many Bibles that fill the shelves inside our homes.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8 ESV
Therefore, our main focus will be on encouraging you to spend time with Jesus and equipping you with resources to keep you accountable to God’s Word.
We will continue our online Bible studies. Our January study is Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer. If you are not signed up, you can register here.
Be sure to share with your friends so they can join us, too. (Just as a note, you won’t receive an email about the study materials, etc. until after the first week of January)
In addition to the online studies, we have partnered with Sweet to the Soul Ministries to provide a Daily Scripture Reading plan for you to use in your own quiet/prayer time.
In the near future we will also begin daily devotions. When I Rise will be a morning devotional and Be Still & Know will be an evening devotional. These will be available on the website, but we will also send you information on how to have them delivered into your inbox every morning/evening.
Finally, we believe that reading the Bible is not the same as studying God’s Word. Yet, there are very few of us that have been taught how to study the Bible.
Because we are so passionate about every woman knowing what the Bible says for herself and not relying on someone on social media to tell her what it says, we are developing resource materials to teach you how to study your Bible.
As soon as those resources become available, we will be sure to let you know!
There are so many more GOoD things happening at Real Women Ministries this year (too many to share here), I hope you will stay connected with us. You can find all of our social media links here on the website. “LIKE”, Tweet, Pin, and Instagram us online. And be sure to become a community member to receive updates.
Wishing you and your family a very Happy, Healthy, and Blessed New Year!

Real Women Ministries
Hi there Stephanie. I’m so encouraged to see your plans for RealWomenMinistries. I’m feeling God calling me to direct more of my writing towards supporting women to get into God’s word, so I especially wanted to take a look at what you’re doing. May the Lord bless your new Bible study group and bless your effort with Jana too! 🙂 Subscribing today! 🙂
Thanks for visiting with us, Betsy. I’m so glad to have you join our little community gathering together to read His Word. I look forward to hearing from you as we go through our Daily Scripture Reading and studying the Bible.
