El Elyon [ el el-yone’] :: Most High; Highest

Masculine Noun
In the title “LORD, Most High” the Hebrew words for Elohim and Yahweh are used. Scripture refers to El Elyon as The LORD Most High, Creator of heaven and earth.
Identifying God as Most High means there is no other god or object of worship higher than Him.
He is far above all things and circumstances. No matter what we are going through, we can be assured El Elyon is high above our situation.
He is the creator and ruler over all things. There is nothing He can’t do. We can trust in His ability to work through our circumstances and fulfill His purposes for our lives.
While you can find many scriptures above El Elyon, Most High God, some of my favorites are in Psalms.
“I will give to the LORD the thanks due to his righteousness, and I will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.” Psalm 7:17 ESV
“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation fo the Most High.” Psalm 46:4 ESV
“I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.” Psalm 57:2 ESV
There are many other verses in Scripture about El Elyon, the Lord Most High. How many can you find?
Have you ever been in a situation where God showed up as El Elyon, to rule over the circumstances and bring you through? Tell us about it.
