Embrace – God Can
Jenifer does such a fabulous teaching of these verses of Ephesians I struggled to add anything to it. I found myself drawn to her challenge to take time in praise and worship.
There are many different situations each of us are facing during this season. Within those various circumstances, we find ourselves looking from one of two perspectives. We are either in a place of needing God to move on our behalf or we are experiencing the blessing of His gracious answer to our recent prayers. Both of these situations should send us to our knees in prayer, praise, and worship to the God who is able – able to do more than we can ever imagine.
I want to echo Jenifer’s challenge to us at the end of this chapter – find time to praise Him today. Get alone with God before your head rests on your pillow and give Him your impossible…because He can!
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. – Ephesians 3:20 (NLT)
Now to the God who can do so many awe-inspiring things, immeasurable things, things greater than we ever could ask or imagine through the power at work in us – Ephesians 3:20 (VOICE)
This challenge to praise reminds me of a book I read by Stormie OMartin that talks about the power in praise. I like how Jenifer says “Positionally, as a child of God, I am always in Christ. But practically I must daily remain in his presence.” I think praise helps us do that.
I agree, Gina, when I focus on God and what He has done in my life it is easier not to see the ‘storm’ going on around me. I was definitely challenged to shift my focus this week. So, I’m spending some time in prayer and praise today!
I’m overwhelmed with His love. The world can have it’s way with you but in the midst of the sacred beauty of the Lord it will pass away. I needed this reminder…to remember that His power is active, explosive, and dynamic that brings life so that no matter the circumstances of what we face, He will use us to reach our full potential in Him. Wow!
