Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy,he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 ESV
Reflect/Verse Mapping
May God be honored by our worship for the compassion and divine favor He showed toward us when He gave us new life and an active expectation of receiving His good ness because He is the center of all our hope.
(Based on verse map of 1 Peter 1:3 – see picture)
God is worthy of our worship because He has shown compassion towards us through the resurrection of Jesus. We do not dserve His favor – we deserve death. Yet, even through the sorrow of death and resurrection, He receives joy at bringing a way for us to have eternal life with Him.
Relate
Because Jesus has given us new life, we do not have to be weighted down by the troubles of this world. He is our HOPE
He is a LIVING HOPE – alive and actively participating in bringing help into desperate situations. He is not silent, but actively speaking life into dead hope.
Although our hearts become comfortable in calling this world ‘home’, we are not made for this world. We are made for Heaven. We are citizens in Heaven passing through this land on our way to Him. When storms rage and waves threaten to overtake us, let us fix our eyes on the object of our ultimate HOPE – eternal life with Jesus
Pray
Lord, thank You for Your kindness and compassion when You made a way for me to have eternal life through Jesus Christ. Help me to remember You are a living and active Hope for my desperate situation. Help me to focus on You as the center of Hope and Joy – even in the midst of the storm. In Jesus’ Name – Amen
